DCN OFFSHORE PROJECTS

GPC Port

DCN assisted for preplacing jack-up barge SBM Offshore.

Borkum West OWF

DCN signed contract with GeoSea for subsea installation of offshore wind park Borkum West. Diving spread will be installed on the jack-up barge Goliath.

Gas Pipe Line Repair

DCN completed a gas pipe line repair for in the Black Sea. DCN supplied engineering, welder coding, project management, habitat manufacturing and all personnel. Works were done from the GSP Prince.

A 6”pipeline was “piggy‐backed” off an unburied 20” inch gas pipeline installed on the seabed. Welding was required in two locations on the 6”pipeline, to repair and install a 31m long spool piece. To achieve the required welding quality, the spool piece had to be installed and welded under hyperbaric (dry) conditions, according to a qualified PQR and utilising certified (coded) hyperbaric welders.

Tyra East Denmark

DCN completes injection works on 12 platform legs at the Tyra East field from DSV Bibby Sapphire.

Tyra East consists of two wellhead platforms, TEB and TEC, one processing and accommodation platform, TEA, one gas flare stack, TED, and one riser platform, TEE, as well as a bridge module supported by a STAR jacket, TEF.

Tyra East receives production from the satellite fields, Roar, Svend, Tyra Southeast and Harald/Lulita, as well as gas production from the Gorm and Dan/Halfdan Fields and liquids from Valdemar. The Tyra East complex includes facilities for the final processing of gas, oil, condensate and water.

Hyperbaric Welding Trials

The start of 2011 saw the start of a new exciting project for DCN, by being awarded a contract to repair a 6" line on a Subsea Gas Pipeline in the Black Sea. The repair is to be done using a Hyperbaric Welding Habitat manufactured by DCN. An international team has been mobilised and the welding qualification trials will take place at our saturation diving facility in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.

Baku

For the Turkmenistan Block-1 gas Development Project high quality welding has to be executed. This level of welding and the final qualification test is only possible in dry conditioned circumstances.  Hyperbaric welding procedure. A dry welding habitat has to be used. The first engineering of the welding habitat is already performed by Momentum Engineering. DCN is asked to evaluate the design and to give advise to complete the habitat system into a safe working/welding habitat. Also special advise has to be given regarding the actual welding procedure and qualification. Because of the limited time this first impression will mainly consist of key items and shortlisted overviews. The complete habitat and diving project is carried out from a suitable DSV. The divers enter the habitat by means of a wet transfer. Regarding the diving depth and the needed welding time, saturation diving technique will be the most efficient and economical solution.

Fujairah

The Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline will originate from Habshan in Abu Dhabi and terminate in Fujairah, both located in the United Arab Emirates. The pipeline has been designed to transport 1.5 Million Barrels of Crude Oil Per Day (MMBPD) from the Company for Onshore Oil Operations Facilities (ADCO) over a distance of approximately 370 km to the Main Oil Terminal for export through the Offshore Loading Facilities.

BELWIND

The Belwind Phase I Offshore Wind Farm was completed in the record time of 15 months and will now provide 175,000 households with green energy. The Belwind Phase I Offshore Wind Farm includes 55 wind turbines and one offshore high voltage station. The farm is located approximately 50 km off the coast of Belgium, in waters ranging from 15 to 32 m deep. Belwind Phase I is the furthest operational offshore wind farm in the world to date. Project execution began in August 2009. In February 2010, the 56 foundations, consisting of monopiles weighing 400 tonnes each and transition pieces weighing 160 tonnes each, were successfully installed. Between April and August 2010, the 55 Vestas V90 wind turbines, each capable of producing a maximum power output of 3 MW, were installed on the foundations.

Taurt project

The scope of work of the Phase 1 work-order includes the transport, installation and post-lay trenching of one 68.5 km long electro-hydraulic umbilical and the post-lay stabilisation of one 20” and one 12” shallow water pipeline sections.

Pipeline & cable video inspection new islands

Prior to reclamation works for the new island project, the actual condition of the offshore DUGAS pipeline and FLAG communication cable have to be recorded. This to determinate any damages or abnormalities on both the cable and the pipe line. 43 km from palm island Jan de Nul will develop the New Island development. This new island will be located between the DUGAS Gas pipe line and FLAG telecom cable. The required inspection is done by divers working in water depths varying between 22 and 24 meters of sea water. As the area of the pipe line is a no go corridor and the area of the cable is an no anchoring zone, diving works were done from a DP II vessel.
